Family Support Worker
As part of our Marden Team we have two Family Support Workers, Tara and Clare, for three days a week here at Marden Lodge Primary School. They bring several years experience both personally and professionally, along with a good knowledge of people, places and things within the community and surrounding areas, to help support you and your family.
First and foremost they are ‘YOUR’ support, the parents/carers. By making sure that all is well with you, the ripple effect of this ensures it will help settle your children too. As we all know, when we decide to become parents we are not given a manual to help us on our journey. There is no ‘one-size fits all’ solution because our children are totally unique with their own individual personalities and needs. Sometimes a little additional help may be needed, we know and understand that parenting and life in general can be stormy and lonely. There are times at some point in our lives when we could all do with someone to walk alongside us during our struggles, that’s where I come in.
They work very closely with the Thrive Practitioners in school, together this way of working enables them to provide support holistically, offering consistency, continuity and commitment to your whole family.
Support comes in many shapes and forms; a listening ear, a programme of sessions, signposting & referrals, help with housing issues, bereavement & loss, anxiety, parental separation, domestic abuse, parental mental wellbeing, Thrive connection sessions (parent/child), the list is endless, which also includes just allowing you to cry, rant and offload in a safe space.
If you would like more information, please contact the school office and they will put you in touch with Tara and Clare.
